Romsey Primary School and Nursery

Admissions, Sessions & Fees

Our approach to Early Years Education and wrap-around care is highly flexible, ensuring the best for your child. Children are eligible for a place in our nursery class starting from their third birthday. We welcome all families, and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The nursery is operational for 38 weeks annually, coinciding with term times, and remains closed on RPS closure days. We accommodate a maximum of 29 children per session in our nursery.

All children are entitled to 15 hours a week free learning and care in an early years setting from the start of the term following the third birthday, for 38 weeks in a full year (totalling 570 hours).  We also offer limited spaces for those children that are eligible for 30 hours free funding.

We are also able to provide additional hours over your free entitlement, these need to be booked in advance. Please speak to nursery staff or the office for details.

Once you have been offered a place at nursery, we are happy for you to drop in for a 'stay and play' session with your child to help your child to get to know the other children and staff before they start.
