Romsey Primary School and Nursery

School Meals

We are fortunate to have all of our food cooked freshly on site in our purpose-built kitchen by our fantastic Hampshire Caterers (HC3S). Each day there is a meat and vegetarian option for the children to choose from, and all food is nut free.  Fresh salad and bread rolls are also served daily.  If your child requires a special allergy/diet menu for medical reasons, please contact the school office for a form, or download it here

Throughout the year, we host special celebratory meals and menus – details will be provided in our newsletters. In the summer, we provide a picnic box option for the children, which we enjoy outdoors when the weather allows. Our dining hall is a communal space where all age groups, from Nursery to Year 6, dine together. The social experience of shared meals is valuable to us.

Autumn Menu

Children order their meal daily each morning in the classroom. We are unable to allow debt to be accrued and ask that parents pay in advance for school meals; cash, cheques and online payments are accepted.

Meal Prices

Dinners are £3.20 per day/£16.00 per week.

Year R, 1 & 2 are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals.

Children are most welcome to bring a packed lunch if they would prefer.  We encourage the children to have a balanced healthy lunch, so please consider this when putting together packed lunches; we do not accept chocolate bars or sweets.  Because of allergies, please ensure packed lunches do not contain nuts.

Snacks

During the morning, children in Nursery, YR, Y1 & Y2 are part of the Government’s School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme which means that each child can have a free fruit or vegetable snack.

Children can also bring in a healthy fruit of vegetable snack from home. Please send these in a suitable, named plastic container.

Water

Dehydration can seriously affect children’s concentration and their ability to learn. Please provide a named water bottle with a non-spill sports cap for the classroom. We only let children drink water in the classroom.
