Friends of Romsey Primary School (FoRPS)

Romsey Primary School & Nursery has a very active Parent Teacher Association, called Friends of Romsey Primary School (FoRPS).

We raise thousands of pounds each year to buy equipment and resources to enhance the children’s time at the school. For FoRPS it’s much more than just fundraising, it’s a link between home and school, and brings parents, staff and friends together socially in support of the school, and it’s fun!

All parents and members of the school community can get involved; any help however small is always needed to ensure our events are a success.

We hold many events throughout the year, which include our very successful summer and Christmas Fairs; these provide the children and their families with enjoyment and to develop a true community spirit.

Other popular events include our cake & uniform sales, discos and coffee mornings. As well as helping the school by funding major items or ‘nice to haves’, we also provide assistance at school events.

We provide refreshments for special assemblies, concerts, sports day and our annual Languages Day, in which the children dress up in the chosen country’s colours, and FoRPS serve a traditional Spanish breakfast to them.

Our biggest purchase to date is our amazing Play Trail, which all year groups can use and enjoy. It provides exercise, hand-eye coordination and most of all its great fun.  Recently, we have purchased a number of iPads and other computing equipment for the children over the last couple of years.
