Safeguarding

Keeping our children safe

Safeguarding children and child protection is everyone's business. Together we want to ensure that our children are safe, happy and secure at all times. If you have any concerns about your own, or another child, please do not hesitate to contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead or one of the Deputies.

Safeguarding is about ensuring that everyone is safe from harm – safe from bullying, safe from people who could abuse, safe from discrimination or harassment – and that we all feel safe in our environment.

Designated safeguarding leads (DSL), or their deputies, are specially trained and qualified staff in all aspects safeguarding or child protection.

 Safeguarding Statement

RPS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. It is recognised that this can only be achieved through sound procedures, good inter-agency co-operation and the recruitment and retention of competent, motivated employees who are suited to, and fulfilled in the roles they undertake.  This means that we have a Child Protection Policy and procedures in place and all staff are trained annually, and throughout the year, on the latest Government legislation.

Safer Recruitment

Six members of staff (Jason Anderson, Lindsay Nicholas, Martyn Whitear, Jackie Gibson and Faye Hill) are trained and qualified in Safer Recruitment processes.

Prevent

We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
